CHANT DE LA SIRENE 1
Du rocher, de l'algue, du vent,
Je suis écume - je suis sang
Et chant qui moi-même m'enchante.
Le vol qui fige mes contours
Darde mes seins, tresse mes jours,
Façonne le cri qui me hante
Et je serais entre tes doigts -
Sel des matins, envol parfois -
Ce rosier noir qu'aux fûts on ente.

MERMAID'S SONG 1
Rock and seaweed and gale and flood,
I am your foam - I am your blood,
My song is self-enthralling craft.
The flight freezing my silhouette
Weaves my days, raises my breast
Shapes my cry to a haunted raft
I shall be what your hands entwine:
Salt in the morn, soaring sometime,
On the bole, the dark rose they graft.
