Verger - mais de quels fruits déguisent-ils la ronde
Ces abîmes de nuit constellant nos miroirs?
Voici qu'ont chu les pas qui ne devaient déchoir.
L'arc mimant le serpent vient d'engendrer le monde.

L'éclair perçoit l'appel et lui-même féconde,
Habile à déguiser, le terme et le terroir,
Car le fleuve ne coule où l'entraîne le soir.
Toi tu te dis ta source et façonnes ta bonde.

Aux sucs que ta dent presse ignores-tu le temps
Qui pétrit le sol dur et les jours éclatants
Pour que la noce germe au secret du breuvage?

Ainsi tel fruit s'accroît ignoré de tes jours
Et le jardin pourtant où ton ombre a son cours
Porte l'arbre têtu que ne brisera l'âge.

Orchard - Say, which garlands of fruits do they disguise,
Those abysses of night echoed by our mirrors?
Look, stumbling are even the most steady walkers.
And the serpent-like bow caused the world to arise!

Lightning perceives the call and in turn impregnates,
Clever at disguising, both the term and the soil,
Rivers stay: they know how evening's attempts to foil;
You shall be your own source which its flow regulates.

In the saps which your tooth presses don't you taste Time
Which kneads the barren soil and the dazzling sunshine
So that their union be fruitful in the beverage?

This hidden fruit will grow in the course of your days.
And in the garden where your shadow moves or stays
The stubborn tree expands and shall overcome age.
