Michel Galiana (c) 1991

VII COACH JOURNEY The road is dust and each horizon is pregnant With the next horizon. Towers and fields and mews. Here a white cow and there an old hoary peasant Who sells water melons on the road side. And you Find this bucolic sight immensely picturesque And you must needs of it take a swift photograph As a souvenir. But the coach driver won't rest, Hurries towards another township where, no chaff! You will see women in saris, most certainly... The coach, however, impertubably drives on And you finally miss these children who carry On their backs cans to fill at the pump in a swarm.
